China is taking part in a universal exhibition of this nature for the first time. The theme of its participation: “Land of Hope, Food for Life.” The concept The theme chosen by China embodies the attitude of gratitude, respect and cooperation of its people: the earth has nourished mankind from the beginning; their hope is the prospect of a future in which food will guarantee life for everybody. Agriculture, food, environment and sustainable development are China’s focal points at Expo Milan 2015.
The reason is to remind us of the Chinese philosophy that “man is an integral part of nature”, to illustrate cultural traditions and progress in the agricultural fields and to present the great already steps achieved through rational use of resources in order to ensure the production of sufficient amounts of good, healthy food. The common thread is a search for balance between human beings and the environment, between humankind and nature.
